ITV Corrie star Ellie Leach looks completely different from Faye Windass with 'fruity' look on night out

Coronation Street star Ellie Leach looked completely different from her character Faye Windass as she headed off on a night out with friends. Ellie's character has been feeling far from glam recently while going through an early menopause at 20.

Her troubles haven't been helped by her supportive boyfriend Craig Tinker's fussing. Despite trying to do the right thing he had Faye fuming when he asked her boss Carla Connor not to put Faye under pressure at work.

He then left her distraught by presenting her with a special nightie designed to keep her cool and improve her sleep. Thinking Craig didn't see her as desirable anymore she made a move on her shocked neighbour Michael Bailey.

Thankfully Faye and Craig patched things up and the secret that she tried to kiss Michael is safe, for now. Away from the Corrie drama Ellie, who has played Faye since 2011, looked radiant and relaxed as she posed with a pal for photos shared on her Instagram.

She wrote "My sister forever" as the pair sported coordinating colourful outfits. Ellie, 21, from Bury, wore a zesty lemon yellow top with blue jeans. She added more colour with a cute bubblegum pink mini bag and hot pink heels.

Ellie tied the look together with a multi-coloured scarf tied through her belt loop. The soap favourite wore her dark brunette tresses loose around her shoulders and added to her summery glow with bronzed cheeks.

Her friend chose a pink and green check top teamed with matching lime green trousers finished with pink open-toe heels matching Ellie's bag. In a nod to their fruity ensembles Ellie shared an emoji of a watermelon.

Last month Ellie appeared on Loose Women as part of their 'Menopause Manifesto' campaign to talk about Faye's premature ovarian failure storyline. She said: "I was shocked because I didn't realise it could happen to women so young. But I think that's why it's good because not a lot of people know about it so it's good to be able to show that this happens."

She added: "There's all types of stuff that happens and so many symptoms. I think the hardest one for me is the mood swings. You go from zero to 100 so quickly, and I rally don't go through that in my life but it is like something takes over your body and you can't describe it."

The star revealed her mum is currently menopausal and is helping her with the storyline as she's experiencing a number of the symptoms her character has to portray. She explained: "It's really helpful because I can kind of see what she's like and she does have the mood swings and the hot flushes. But she's fine and it is nice to have her there."

The storyline is also highlighting how menopause can also have an affect on partners. She said: "I think that's what's also not spoken about is how people's partners deal with it and how it affects them. Because obviously you're going through it and it's kind of in a way quite selfish. You don't think about the people around you and how it's affecting them."
