ITV Corrie's Millie Gibson shows off latest post-soap look with new hair after telling co-star to have 'worst day'

Millie Gibson got a taste of Coronation Street as she reunited with some of her co-stars during a trip to the theatre. Fans of the ITV soap saw the actress bow out of Weatherfield as Kelly Neelan just last week.

Viewers thought Kelly would be making a permanent exit from the cobbles after her plans to have Gary Windass bumped off for killing her dad a number of years ago backfired and saw her own life hanging in the balance. The teen character hired her former kidnapper Kieron to carry out the criminal task for £10,000.

After luring Gary into Kieron's path during her and Aadi Alahan's engagement party at the Bistro after telling him she knew he killed Rick, her guardian was taking back to the scene of his own crime and forced to dig his own grave. But as he did, Kelly had a change of heart and Gary managed to get away.

However, Kieron kidnapped Kelly and as he rushed to save her, both Gary and Kelly were at risk on top of a building overlooking Manchester. it was all almost over for Gary and Kelly when Kieron said he'd kill them both and waved a gun at them. However, in a surprising twist, it was Kelly's fiance Aadi who got shot.

With Kelly on the edge of a roof overlooking the city skyline, Kieron turned his gun on Kelly. He told her to jump before telling his associate to push her off. As he waved the gun at her, Gary arrived but when a shot rang out, it was Aadi who jumped in its path. With all three of them having, luckily, survived, Kelly decided she couldn't stay in Weatherfield and broke off her engagement before leaving the street.

Millie later took to Instagram to share a final message with fans of the long-running soap. She typed a heartfelt message alongside a string of pictures from her last days filming on the famous street. The first showed her in Kelly's glam red dress holding a clapperboard while another showed her final script in which it directs Kelly to the tram stop as she planned to start a new life as 'just Kelly'.

Kelly left Weatherfield (ITV)

"It’s with a very heavy, but full heart that it is time to say goodbye to Kelly Neelan," Millie typed alongside the images. "These past 4 years have been like no other and I can’t begin to describe how much I’m going to miss this place and the people in it. Everyone that has been a part of this storyline has been nothing but incredible and I couldn’t have asked for a better block to end on.

"I’ve had the honour of being surrounded by such talent and kindness over the years and have met friends and a second family for life. I’ll never forget my time here or the memories it has given me. I can’t say thank you enough for letting me be a small piece of the Coronation Street family. Bye for now, Kel."

But on Wednesday night the 18-year-old, from Broadbottom, was reunited with some of her soap pals as she headed out to the Palace Theatre. She was among the soap's cast and other stars who headed to the press night for Saturday Night Fever which runs at the venue until Saturday.

Millie with Kimberly Hart-Simpson (Phil Tragen)

Millie posed on the blue carpet outside the iconic venue, showing off another of her autumnal looks. The former soap star looked stunning in a white knitted roll-neck dress which just skipped her thighs as she posed for the awaiting cameras. With the weather getting cooler, the teen added a tan leather belted coat to her look.

Millie added a pair of matching tan-coloured knee-high boots and clung to a black bag for her essentials. And it appears she's gone for a bit of a chop as she showed off her shorter blonde locks for the occasion.

She didn't do the whole blue carpet on her own, however, as she was joined by fellow former Corrie star Kimberly Hart-Simpson, who played Nicky Wheatley in the ITV soap. Kimberley also looked gorgeous as she changed up her look for the changing weather, donning a high-neck green dress under a cream coat, adding a pair of long black boots to complete her outfit.

Millie's social media post about Mikey (Millie Gibson Instagram)

Millie's latest public appearance comes after she shared a sweet, and funny, birthday tribute to her former co-star Mikey North. The actor, who plays Gary in the ITV soap, was celebrating his 36th birthday on Tuesday (September 27) and despite not having social media, Millie dedicated a post to him anyway.

Sharing a collage of photos to her Instagram Story, featuring some unseen snaps, Millie typed: "Guys keep calm... stay in your seats... IT'S ONLY MKEY NORTH'S BIRTHDAY." She then jokingly added: "Have the worst day in work without me 'old man'. He doesn't have social media so feel free to shout it in the streets."
