ITV Corrie's Kimberly Hart-Simpson dubbed an 'ethical princess' as 'glowing' star shares amazing story behind Pride of Britain dress

Kimberly Hart-Simpson is no stranger to rocking a charity shop find after working her magic and transforming it into another unique piece. And so the former Coronation Street's latest look for the Pride of Britain Awards was no different.

Kimberly, who played Nicky Wheatley in the ITV soap, stunned on the red carpet earlier this week as stars gathered together at the annual event to celebrate the everyday heroes and hear their incredible stories. The ceremony will be aired on ITV on Thursday, October 27.

The 35-year-old took to Instagram to share some images of herself strutting the red carpet in an eye-catching gown she put together with purchases from Oxfam. She could be seen wearing a strapless black and cream gown which she wore with an elegant pair of matching gloves.

Kimberly also added a headband to her hair, featuring a black bow that had been adorned with faux pearls while her blonde locks were styled straight as they sat on her shoulders.

"'Pride of Britain 2022’ congratulations to all involved," the soon-to-be Brassic star captioned the post which showed off her outfit in all its glory before she added images of the skirt of her dress in the charity shop where she bagged it for a fraction of the prixe. "Outfit is from @oxfamgb," she continued

"Vintage skirt believed to be from 1950s and somehow managed to find its way to a store with its original labels still intact. Price tag of £470 and i bagged it for £50. And I bet it has a story to tell."

The charity shop's official Instagram page replied to the post, writing in the comments: "How wonderful! Looks absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for your very thoughtful support." Former Corrie co-star Paddy Bever, who recently bagged his first award for his portrayal of Max Turner in the ITV soap, replied: "a glowing, ethical [princess emoji]."

Former Love Island star Shaughna Phillips said: " You are just everything." Former Hollyoaks star Jessica Ellis commented: " Gorgeous," while fellow Channel 4 soap star Daisy Wood Davis typed: " Love this." Actress Faye McKeever also replied: "This is so gorgeous, you are so gorgeous, the dress is so gorgeous."

And fans were just as impressed too. @pearce_jojo said: "Love that you wear second hand clothes, I love charity shop shopping, always find a bargain." @thecharityshopgiftcard posted: "Thank you for once again destigmatizing wearing secondhand!" @ worn.and.worn wrote: " Amazing!! You’re flying the pre-loved flag high! And looking fabulous in the process!"

@francescafae shared: "Wow! You look sensational! Your eye for fashion is always on point." @w123street replied: "Another stunning outfit. Love the message that you are trying to get across." @meggrayx added: "Oh my!!! Absolutely gorg! Love this look on you."
