ITV Corornation Street fans spot issue with baby Alfie's 'life mentors' during naming ceremony

Coronation Street fans have wasted no time in pointing out problems with baby Alfie's 'life mentors'. The son of Imran Habeeb and Abi Franklin has caused quite the drama on the cobbles of the ITV soap in his short life so far.

The little one made a surprise appearance earlier this year when Abi went into labour weeks early at the side of a road amid a drug and booze binge after not knowing she was even pregnant. Luckily, Alfie has been thriving and was able to leave the hospital last week.

However, it has been plain sailing for his warring parents who have been fighting for custody of the tot. After Imran got paralegal Ben to get evidence former drug addict Abi, played by Sally Carman, is on drugs again, the solicitor used him as a witness in court after he spotted Abi with her old drug dealer mate, Dean, who approached her and asked for money, which she gave him to keep him off her back.

The misleading photos didn't help Abi's case and Imran and new wife Toyah Battersby were awarded custody. The mum, who is still grieving the loss of eldest child Seb Franklin, was devastated but isn't one to give up without a fight and after becoming suspicious of Ben, followed him and spotted him doing his own drug deal.

But her threats to share her evidence backfired. Despite Ben agreeing to change what he said to the court, during Monday's trip to Weatherfield (May 16) fans and Abi found out that Ben didn't stay true to his word and revealed he'd be staying silent after all because Imran had offered him full-time employment as his and Adam Barlow's assistant.

Abi later turned up at the baby-naming ceremony that Toyah had organised for Alfie with her sister Leanne Battersby, Nick Tilsely, Adam, and Kelly Neelan all watching on. The ceremony, however, did go without a hitch but Corrie fans couldn't help but point out that Alfie's new 'life mentors' Leanne and Kelly didn't have the cleanest past.

@TweetieeTy tweeted: "Kelly and Leanne as life mentors .... Ffs you might as well just give him back to Abbie. #corrie." @cumiskey55 wrote: "Christ on a bike. Leanne ( a former escort) and Kelly ( who was part of the gang that murdered his older brother) as “LIFE MENTORS “. Have you ever heard such Toyah WOKE twaddle. Where’s Billy when you need him. #Corrie."

@itzzzo_ commented: "Alfie will be screwed even more if Kelly and Leanne are his ‘life mentors’ #Corrie." @orangecane said: "'Life mentor' Kelly? I mean, she’s certainly been through a lot in her short life but maybe get a few more years in first? #corrie."

And that wasn't the only thing viewers were pointing out as they noticed the guest list for the ceremony at one of Debbie Webster's fancy hotels was also on the short side. @KerouacNath tweeted: "I understand that there's filming logistics, but come on #Corrie only Leane, Nick and Kelly showed up for Alfie's naming ceremony? #coronationstreet."

@ElaineWharton1 said: "Imran, Toyah, Leanne, Kelly & Abi! Is that the sum total of guests at the naming ceremony? #Corrie," to which someone replied that Adam was there leading to the original tweeter responding: "Without his wife Sarah? #Corrie."
