ITV Coronation Street star announces she's joining Michelle Keegan on Brassic

She's known to Coronation Street fans as Nicky Wheatley but actress Kimberly Hart-Simpson has revealed that she's landed another role. Kimberly took to Instagram to announce that she's joined the cast of Sky comedy- drama Brassic.

Kimberly will be joining Weatherfield favourite Michelle Keegan on Brassic series 5 which is currently filming. The show returned to screens for its fourth season last month on Sky Max and Now TV.

The bold and brash drama follows Vinnie O'Neill, played by Vinnie O'Neill, and his friends, including Michelle's character Erin Croft. The group struggle to get by in the fictional town of Hawley, and often resort to petty crime for money.

Kimberly shared the exciting news on Instagram with a photo of herself outside her trailer and the words: "Next up: Brassic - Season 5 - Andrea." And she added the greeting: "Hey babes."

Mollie Gallagher who plays Corrie's Nina Lucas cheered: "AMAZING." Paddy Bever, who plays Max Turner, said: "There she is so proud x"

Harriet Bibby, who plays Summer Spellman, posted a stream of applause emojis. Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha Alahan, wrote: "Ahhhh!!! Ever so proud." And Charlotte Jordan, who plays Nicky's former love rival Daisy Midgeley, exclaimed: "Yay yay yay."

The BAFTA-nominated series, filmed across Greater Manchester and Lancashire, began back in 2019. The show also stars another Corrie favourite, Jude Riordan who plays Sam Blakeman in the soap, as Erin's son Tyler Croft.

Kimberly returned to our screens as former sex worker Nicky earlier this year after making her debut in 2020. After leaving for a better life with her daughter Maisie, Nicky returned to the street to get a job as a teaching assistant at the same school as her former love interest Daniel.

The friends first met when, struggling over the death of his wife Sinead, Daniel ended up paying Nicky to wear her clothes. Their close friendship caused a rift between Daniel and his girlfriend Daisy.

Then Daniel gave the mother and daughter a place to live after pupil Max Turner leaked photos of her from her past work and she lost her job. When Nicky told Daniel how she really felt and that they'd be good together he let her down gently and revealed that he still had feelings for Daisy.

After moving out of Daniel's flat in May, she was back on the street in July as she bonded with his half brother Peter Barlow. Heading to the police station to pick up a fare taxi driver Peter was surprised to see Nicky had been arrested for no reason. The pair vented their annoyance together and shared a common interest over their contempt for authority trampling over the little man.
