ITV Coronation Street 'sickening' character's return leaves viewers begging 'stop'

Coronation Street fans were outraged after a "sickening" character returned to the show.

Grace Vickers made her first appearance on the Cobbles this year on Monday's edition of the long-running soap.

The character, played by Kate Spencer, hasn't been seen since December, but returned tonight for daughter Glory's birthday party.

However, her true motives soon became clear as she was trying to blackmail more money out of Ed and Aggie Bailey.

Viewers took to Twitter to blast the character when she showed her villainous ways.

Andi said: "Grace possibly the vilest women ever to be in #Corrie. She's sickening."

Beverley posted: "Grace is evil"

Michelle added: "Cant stand grace! Mother of the year only cares about money than her own daughter"

Viewers following the show on Twitter took to the social media platform to beg show bosses to put an end to the storyline after tonight's development.

Bev said:"STOP this Grace storyline NOW I'm losing the will."

Leesh added: "Why has #Corrie bought Grace back? Can’t stand her"

Claire commented : "This Grace nonsense... why why why? Who decided this would be an entertaining storyline"

Hutcherson posted: "Never thought it was possible but Grace is even more vile and annoying than the last time she was on the show. Who thought it was a good idea to bring her back"

Bethany tweeted: "Why did they have to bring Grace back"

Teena commented : "Why’s she back, she’s not a likeable character…"

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
