ITV Coronation Street's Sally Carman's one word response to off-screen fiance's hilarious sex therapy scenes

Coronation Street star Sally Carman had a very simple response to scenes involving her husband-to-be. The actress, best known for playing Abi Webster in the ITV soap, is set to wed Joe Duttine, who fans love as Tim Metcalfe.

During the latest trip to the cobbles on Wednesday night (June 22), viewers saw Tim and his wife Sally Metcalfe, played by Sally Dynevor, preparing for their first sex therapy session. The usually rampant couple have been struggling in the bedroom department following Tim's major heart surgery.

After weeks of trying to avoid any private time with his wife over fears of embarrassment, Tim, who underwent a triple heart bypass at the start of the year, eventually agreed to go to the doctor where he told Dr Gaddas about his impotence. While she suggested altering Tim’s medication, the pair also decided to embark on joint sex therapy.

And viewers were left both in stitches and cringing on Wednesday night when Tim bumped into a charity member on the street and assumed she was his sex therapist, welcoming her into the house while he waited for his wife and nervously started chatting. Trying to get back on course, Barbara, from a local animal sanctury, asked about his interest in donkeys.

"Donkeys? Well, this has got very weird very fast. Listen Barbara, I don't mind talking but maybe we should wait until my wife gets back? She's a big part in this after all," Tim told her. While Barbara suggested she was 'the boss' referring to the boss of the hours and the pair's money, Tim still got the wrong idea.

"Yes but not in the bedroom, not all the time," he replied: "I mean we take it in turns, not in a Fifty Shades kind of way, neither of us are into that. We've tried it, we've tried a bit of everything to be honest with you but we'd be up for experimentation if you think that's a good thing? Well, nothing's off-limits fantasy-wise."

Eventually, Sally walked through the door as she declared: "The sex therapist is here!" while Tim continued to talk about their sex life to the charity worker. As Tim continued to make comments, Sally commented: "Trina the sex therapist is just parking up" leaving Tim red-faced.

Responding to a Instagram clip of part of the scenes, Sally wrote: "Joyous," alongside a crying laughing emoji and yellow heart. And Corrie found it equally as funny. @justinraff2021 said: "That was hilarious."

@beebeemkirsopp commented: "Oh I really laughed at this, typical of Tim." @samantharough wrote: "Was absolutely laughing out loud." @nanwhist72 shared: "This is what corrie does best, love it." @gillianwalker1 replied: "Thank you, we have not laughed, real belly laughed like that, since I don’t know when! Very cleverly written."

@GrumpyoldGould tweeted: "Some much needed laughter in @itvcorrie tonight. Sally & Tim's sex therapist story is hysterical. Reminds me of the old #Corrie." @igarycochrane added: "Tim mistaking a Donkey Sanctuary charity worker for a sex therapist has to be the best thing on TV tonight! [three cry laughing emojis] #Corrie."
