ITV Coronation Street's Max Turner star Paddy Bever poses with new characters viewers are yet to see

Max Turner made a reappearance on the cobbles last year with not just a new face but a new attitude. Coronation Street fans were left floored back in September when a 'stranger' appeared in David Platt's house.

It was in fact David's adopted son who is now being played by Paddy Bever after he took over the role from Harry McDermott who had played Max in the ITV soap since 2010. The 11-year-old, from Bury, left to continue with his acting studies and explore other opportunities leading to Paddy being cast in the role.

But since his comeback, David's had his hands full. Max has been causing havoc on the cobbles. Viewers complained late last year about the character's 'vile' transformation after he made a film suggesting a conspiracy theory linking Johnny Connor’s and Natasha Blakeman's deaths.

He's also been at loggerheads with teacher Daniel Osbourne who was accused of grooming Summer Spellman after a drunken Max confronted his teacher at the school's winter ball. Then, in February, Max suffered a horror fall after Daniel found him trashing his flat. The pair were then left keeping each other's secrets after the teenage tearaway spiked a drink that was meant for Daniel but ended up being drunk by his niece Amy Barlow.

Daniel has kept shtum as Max threatened to send Daniel down for the push down the stairs, which had led to him being hospitalised, if he didn't keep quiet. But last week the truth came tumbling out after a distressed Amy lashed out at another pupil at school thinking he was responsible for her ordeal.

As Max faced another talking to from David, and the prospect of going to prison, he decided to do a runner but needed his phone from the barbers, Trim Up North, first. He was seen smashing the glass of the barber's door and climbing in. Getting what he needed, Max climbed back out of where he came from but ended up lacerating his leg on the broken glass in the door and collapsed onto the street.

It was reformed bad boy Jacob Hay who came to his rescue, using his jacket to help stem the bleeding while Simon Barlow called for an ambulance. During Monday night's trip to Weatherfield (May 2) viewers saw a relieved David and wife Shona discover Max's surgery went well and that he was stable.

Off-screen, Max actor Paddy was reminiscing about his week which included a trip to the beach and a party with his Corrie co-stars. The 20-year-old joined his castmates and the soap's crew at their belated Christmas-turned spring party on Friday night (April 29) which took place at Manchester's Science and Industry Museum.

He shared a photo of himself alongside James Craven, who plays newcomer Aaron. James made his debut on the ITV soap last month as Aaron, a diabetic, met Summer Spellman at a support group after she fell into a coma. James didn't appear ready for the snap, talking as the picture was taken with a beer in hand while Paddy laughed.

He also posted another blurry snap of Adam Hussain and Millie Gibson, who play Aadi Alahan and Kelly Neelan in the Salford-based soap. Adam was looking cool in a leather jacket pair of sunglasses while Millie, who looked stunning in a pale yellow dress, puckered up to plant a kiss on his cheek.

But there was also a surprise in the mix as the array of photos, which he captioned "life this past week" also featured some an on-set snap with characters Corrie viewers are still yet to meet.

One of those was actor Adam Little. He took to his own Instagram last week with a snap of himself stood outside the iconic Rovers Return. "That’s a wrap on Corrie!" he shared alongside the post.

Jack P Shepherd, who plays David, was among those to comment, writing: "He’ll be back," while Paddy added: "Smashed it." Joining Paddy and Adam in their photo, taken with the paperboy outside The Kabin, was Isabelle Smith.

The actress shared the same photo to her own Instagram account and said: "Obviously had to have a picture outside the kabin. Paddy then replied: "A pleasure to work with." But with Corrie filming weeks in advance, it could be a while before we find out just exactly who these newcomers are.
