ITV Coronation Street's Kelly Neelan actress Millie Gibson 'inspired' by Jodie Comer

Coronation Street actress Mollie Gibson has said that Liverpool's Jodie Comer is a role model.

The actress, who plays the ITV soap's Kelly Neelan, won Best Young Performer at the British Soap Awards this year after only just turning 18. She admitted to Lorraine Kelly that one day she aspired to follow a similar career path as Killing Eve's Jodie.

Lorraine asked: "As a young actress with everything ahead of you, is there somebody that you really think to yourself that's the kind of career you'd like or that's the way you'd like to go?" Millie replied: "Oh, I love Jodie Comer."

Lorraine said: "Oh gosh who doesn't." Millie added: "I'm obsessed with Jodie Comer. I recently watched her show in London, Prima Facie, and oh my goodness that was just unbelievable so Jodie Comer definitely."

The Scottish TV host said: "So she's like a role model in a way?" Mollie replied: "Yeah, all of her work is just incredible and just her career path is very idealistic for me."

Speaking of her own acting experiences, Mollie said: "I have so much respect for so many actors because I don't think people realise how little time we have to prepare for these big storylines all of a sudden so yeah it's been such an amazing learning experience really. You learn every day."
