ITV Coronation Street's Jude Riordan pleads for support in exciting career update

Coronation Street's Jude Riordan has sent fans into a frenzy with an exciting career announcement.

The 10-year-old from St Helens has wowed viewers of the long-running soap with his scene stealing performances as Sam Blakeman.

The young star has been a key part of the heartbreaking storyline as he deals with the grief of losing his mum, Natasha, who was mistakenly shot during Super Soap Week.

Jude's farewell speech to his mum left fans calling for him to receive award recognition - and he has taken to Instagram to share the thrilling news he has been nominated for Best Soap Performance at the I Talk Telly Awards.

He said: "WOW. This is brilliant !! My very first Best Soap Performance nomination. I am buzzing about this."

The winner of the award is decided by public vote and Jude has thanked fans for supporting him in the poll.

He added: "It's been such an emotional storyline to play so if you have enjoyed (or maybe not as too sad!) Sam then please VOTE."

Jude is in esteemed company as he is up against Amy Walsh, Billy Price, Charlie Brooks, Kelle Bryan, Mollie Gallagher, Rose Ayling-Ellis and Stevie Basaula.

The voting closes on November 24 and fans have flooded the comments to share their support for the young star.

Carol said: "You definitely deserve to win Jude your performances have been amazing."

Zoe added: "I really hope you win you're an incredible actor."

Rachel commented : "I’ve voted for you Jude, you are so brilliant and fantastic actor!"

Karen posted: "You got my vote Jude! You’re fab."
