ITV Coronation Street's Georgia Taylor shares praise for Tesco as they make an important move

Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor was quick to share her praise for Tesco as she was made aware of an important initiative that he been implemented in some stores. The actress, who is best known for playing Toyah Habeeb in the ITV soap, shared the important move with her thousands of followers.

Posting to her Instagram Stories, Georgia, from Wigan, reshared a post from comedian and writer Deborah Frances-White, aka The Guilty Feminist. The picture showed a note which had been put up in one of the major supermarket's stores which said: "Ask for Beth."

It continued: "If you are in need of sanitary products please go to our Customer Service Desk and ask for a bag BETH has left for you. You will be given a FREE package with everything you need."

The sign adds: "We won't ask questions. Don't feel embarrassed. We're here to help." It ended with the hashtags 'Every Little Helps' and 'End Period Poverty'. Deborah typed alongside her post: "Yessss @tescofood this is amazing, more of this please!"

And Georgia was also clearly impressed. She shared: "This is great @tescofood. I believe it's not in all stores but hopefully soon." Tesco has followed Morrisons who also has an 'Ask for Sandy' initiative in place. Morisons implemented the schemes across all its 497 stores after a store colleague in Bolton came up with the idea to help vulnerable customers

The ‘Package for Sandy’ initiative was created and launched by Community Champion, Emma Parkinson, who saw the need for the service in her local area. The initiative is now being rolled out nationwide across all Morrisons stores in the UK in a bid to beat period poverty.

Back to Georgia, and the soap star is currently at the centre of another of Corrie's big storylines. In Thursday's episode of the ITV soap, Toyah took to the stand at the start of her trial for murder. It couldn't have come at a worse time for the character as earlier in the week she confessed all to her former flame Spider Nugent.

The former counsellor told him that she purposely crashed the car, carrying her and Imran Habeeb, after he admitted to lying in court about Abi Webster, their neighbour and mother of Imran's surprise baby. In shock scenes, Imran saved his wife's life after they became trapped in the vehicle after ploughing into a scaffolding-clad building.

Then, as Toyah was bundled into an ambulance, it was Imran who collapsed and died at the scene from a cardiac arrest. Since then, Toyah has seen some of her neighbours turn against her with Adam Barlow and Kelly Neelan both testifying during her case. And also during Thursday night's trip to the cobbles (September 15), Imran's mother Saira Habeeb told the court that she saw Toyah kissing Spider and she believed Toyah was having an affair and therefore killed Imran on purpose.

When they arrived home, Leanne breathed a sigh of relief but Toyah was less than pleased. "I have got nothing to feel positive about,” she told her sister who had tried to see the bright side in Spider Nugent having not turned up to testify about her murder confession. And as viewers found out earlier this week, he is an undercover police officer who is being pushed for information from DS Swain.

"It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter who said what, or if the jury think I’m a cold-blooded killer," Toyah continued. "It doesn’t matter. Imran’s dead. And he’s dead because of me. Whatever the jury decides that doesn’t change. He’s dead and I killed him. And I have to live with that forever."
