ITV Coronation Street's Gemma sudden exit after Chesney finds out she is pregnant

There will be plenty of drama on Coronation Street next week as Gemma Winter makes a shock exit on the Cobbles.

Viewers this week will see Gemma become increasingly ill - with Chesney implying that she has a drink problem and is simply hungover again.

Asking for help, Emma comes to No.5 and finds a distressed Gemma.

She reveals that she has read Chesney’s texts to Tyrone, which make it clear that he is fed up with her ruining his life.

Gemma confides in Rita (ITV)

Going to Rita for help, Gemma tells her about their relationship problems and current illness.

ITV Lorraine viewers ask Tulisa 'what have you done to your face?'

However, Rita starts to question whether Gemma's sickness could be something else and suggests a pregnancy test and Gemma is shocked when the test is positive.

On Friday, a scared Gemma makes the difficult decision to move out.

But next week, Gemma and Chesney's relationship problems will escalate.

A tearful Gemma admits to Ryan she misses Chesney and needs him more than ever.

Emmerdale actress blasts ITV bosses for sacking her to This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield

Ryan encourages her to talk to him and give it another go.

Paul begs Gemma to stay (ITV)

But as Gemma and Ryan emerge from behind the bar, Chesney jumps to the wrong conclusion. Deeply hurt, Gemma hurries out.

After their latest tiff, Gemma decides that Chesney mustn’t find out about the baby and hastily announces that she is going to live with her mum.

As she sits on the park bench, Paul begs her to realise that there are plenty of people who love her and she doesn’t have to leave.

Chesney tells Rita and Paul that he tried to persuade her that he wants to be part of the baby’s life but that she has disappeared off to the estate.

Will this be the last we see of Gemma Winter?
