ITV Coronation Street's Colson Smith gives glimpse inside new home after returning to work and co-star return plea

Coronation Street star Colson Smith has given fans a glimpse inside his first home after returning back to Manchester from an epic holiday in New Zealand. The actor couldn't have looked any further away from the cobbles as he ditched the city at Christmas and kept his followers updated on his trip which extended into the New Year.

The 24-year-old wowed his 179,000 followers by sharing snaps from his sun-soaked getaway, including one which show him posing on top of a car as he and his pals as they appeared to be preparing to head off on a cross-country drive before following it up with another, showing him on the move with the countryside behind him, as his friends posed inside two vehicles following behind him.

Colson, who plays Craig Tinker in the ITV soap, later shared a picture of himself topless as he enjoyed a dip in a thermal pool 'mid-road trip' before ramping up the antics by going for a jaw-dropping skydive. "Flying into 2023," he captioned the thrill-seeking snap.

But it was soon time to return home and head back to work with Colson sharing a snap from inside his humble abode after heading to the Salford-based set for more scenes as PC Tinker.

Posting a snap from inside, the first-time buyer, who moved into his new abode back in October two years after making the purchase of the property, it appeared to show a kitchen island and some seating space. And it was glowing under the light of a neon side reading: "There is a light that never goes out," in a nod to the Courteeners track of the same name.

Sharing a snap on Instagram at the time, he said: "Bought my first house in 2020, after a few years of playing Bob The Builder it’s now time to make it a home."

Colson moved into the property after he spent time living with two of his co-stars. He used to live with Jack P Shepherd but when the David Platt actor moved in with his girlfriend, Colson moved in with Ben Price, who plays Nick Tilsley in the ITV soap. And when talking to the Manchester Evening News earlier this month, Colson said one of the two had already made quite a few visits to his new gaffe.

"I lived with Jack for a year and Ben for three years so I've grown up with them two as my senior influences and I'm on my own now," he told us. "It's been interesting being a homeowner. I'm still in the process of finishing snagging so it's not quite perfect," he said of his new home.

"I'm very privileged and very lucky. I wasn't from Manchester but now it's nice to call it home and be set-up here," he added. "Ben has been around an awful lot. It's only Thursday and he's done three nights this week."

In other news, Colson has asked his former co-star to return to the cobbles after she made a visit to the Salford-based set. Brooke Vincent who played Sophie Webster in the ITV soap until she headed on maternity leave in 2019, took her toddler Mexx with her to the famous street where she got to catch up with her on-screen family and former co-stars. And there was also time for some photo opportunities outside some of the soap's famous landmarks.

"The Most Iconic Street," Brooke started the caption of the string of snaps from the trip. The 30-year-old went on: "Today I took Mexx back to Corrie, Last time I was here I was about to give birth to him!! 3 years have past, everything has changed, yet everything is still the same.. I saw old friends and people I literally spent over half my life working with!!! Forever a huge part of me." She then added: "Until next time. We had the best time visiting."

Close was among the first to respond writing: "Come home then." Sally Dynevor, who plays Brooke's on-screen mum, was also quick to comment as she wrote: "Sooo good to see you Brooke. We need you back."
