ITV Coronation Street problem spotted as Tracy Barlow 'forgets character'

ITV Coronation Street fans were in hysterics as they spotted a problem with Tracy Barlow's comments in tonight's episode.

Friday's episode of the long-running soap continued to explore Amy's blossoming relationship with Jacob Hay.

The couple went for dinner tonight with Amy's parents, Tracy and Steve McDonald. Jacob has endured a chequered past on Weatherfield as he groomed Simon Barlow into becoming a drug dealer.

Amy swears he has put his criminal past behind him, but their parents have reservations about the relationship. Steve insisted it is right for them to give Jacob a chance, but Tracy was much less keen and branded it a "terrible idea".

However, viewers following the show on Twitter were quick to point out that Tracy should be open to giving someone a second chance since she has been convicted of murdering her ex-partner Charlie Stubbs in the past. Fans took to the social media platform in hysterics to question whether she had forgotten the character.

@CavoloChe said: "Has Tracy forgotten she killed Charlie Stubbs."

Fiona added: "Tracy: I ain't having lunch with a drug dealer you're a murderer yourself you have something in common."

Another user tweeted : "I mean, Tracy should be humbled by the fact Jacob's prepared to have lunch with a murdererous baby-seller and the original pre Tinder swindler"

Ryan posted: "Tracy the murderer having lunch with Jacob the drug dealer. They have so much in common"

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
