ITV Coronation Street mystery as Leo goes missing after confrontation with Stephen

Leo Thompkins is currently packing for his big move to Canada with Jenny Connor. However, the Rovers Return landlady is set to be left panicked and heartbroken when her man just disappears.

Earlier this month, Coronation Street fans were left feeling sick when Jenny drunkenly kissed Stephen Reid as she moped over her split with Leo. Jenny, played by Sally Ann Matthews, decided to call things off with Leo after she realised he didn't really want to give up his job offer in Canada.

But just as things looked set to go a step further, they were interrupted by Rovers barmaid Gemma who was trying to find her boss as Leo was waiting at the bar and wanted to ask her something. And it was quite the surprise as her on-off partner proposed - to which she said a massive yes.

Later, Stephen learned of Jenny and Leo's plans to move to Canada and Sarah offered up her uncle's help and the men exchanged numbers. Jenny has since been trying to avoid Audrey Roberts' son as she packs up her life in Weatherfield. But new Corrie spoilers reveal that Stephen is set to lose his rag with civil engineer Leo when he tells him he knows exactly what he's up to.

It starts this week when a panicky David reveals he thinks the sinkhole in the garden is opening up again. And we all remember the chaos it caused last Halloween before ending in the death of Jenny's husband Johnny and poor Natasha Blakeman. As a result, the Platts plan to move out while Leo conducts a full survey.

When Audrey suggests they can all stay with her, Leo clocks Stephen’s unease and Leo confides in Jenny that he finds Stephen rather odd, as if he’s hiding something. Jenny masks her anxiety over their secret passionate moment. Later, having paid for their spa day, Stephen checks that Audrey and Gail have left.

As he makes out he enjoyed a night in a posh hotel, Leo wonders why he’s lying. Audrey arrives back from the spa day early and reveals she found a valuer from the estate agents at her house, who told her that Stephen made the appointment. Stephen’s thrown whilst an intrigued Leo listens. The pair later come to blows and as David threatens to call the police, Stephen stops him and as Leo storms out with Jenny in close pursuit.

David quizzes Stephen about why he spent the night in his car and why the valuer turned up at Audrey’s house. However they’re interrupted mid-row by a knock at the door. Stephen’s heart sinks to see his estranged wife Gabrielle standing there. While it's still unclear if she'll reveal all about her husband's money-making plans, Leo tells Stephen that it’s clear he’s lying to his family and lying about his financial situation and he intends to find out why.

And next week, when Leo’s dad Teddy warns him he’s mad to chuck his life away on a woman twice his age who can’t be trusted, Leo voices his doubts to Gemma. On a mission to prove that Stephen is a liar, Leo speaks to the estate agent who was booked to value Audrey’s house, before eavesdropping on a conversation with Gabrielle.

Confronting Stephen, Leo reveals he heard every word and knows his plan is to get his hands on the equity from Audrey’s house to pay her back. As he follows Leo onto the factory gantry, Leo taunts him, threatening to call Audrey. Seeing red Stephen lunges at Leo, before watching him fall over the railings. As Leo lands with a thud on the commercial bin down below, Stephen hurries down the ladder to check if he’s okay.

Whether Leo survived his fall remains to be seen but Jenny confides in Daisy that she’s worried about Leo as he’s not been home all night and his phone goes straight to voicemail. Daisy suspects Leo might have got cold feet. But is there more to it after his run-in with Stephen?

By the end of the week, Teddy calls in the pub and is surprised to see Jenny behind the bar. Jenny explains how Leo left for Canada without her and Teddy asserts she’s only herself to blame. But is that really the case?

Speaking about what happens, Sally told the press: "The day that they’re supposed to be going [to Canada], Jenny’s been for final meal in the Bistro and Leo’s going out with his mates for a final meal. And then he’s just not come home. And it’s not like him."

She explains how Jenny reached the conclusion that "he’s only been and gone to Canada without her," but Corrie viewers will no doubt be desperate to uncover the truth.
