ITV Coronation Street's Jude Riordan lets fans in on birthday family tradition with sweet snap

Coronation Street favourite Jude Riordan has let fans in on a birthday tradition in his family as he celebrates turning 11. The actor is best known for playing chess-obsessed Sam Blakeman in the ITV soap.

Not only is Jude celebrating his birthday on May 11, but the young actor is also facing a big week as he completes his SATs.

The soap star took to his Instagram page, which is managed by his parents, to share how he would be celebrating his special day once his important school work was done. The series of sweet snaps showed Jude posing with Spiderman - aka his director dad, Paul Riordan.

"Every birthday my Dad nips for a pint of milk and then SPIDERMAN visits me," he adorably shared alongside the post. "I hope he'll meet him one day. 11 times around the sun for me #birthdays #tween #birthdayspiderman #11today."

He then added: "Still have SATS to do but taking sweets in for my friend's and pizza and cake for tea." And he was soon being flooded with birthday wishes.

@zoegeorge56 said: "Happy Birthday Jude!! Have a great day celebrating. Who doesn’t love Spiderman? He’s my favourite superhero of all time." @booboo9369 wrote: "Happy birthday hope you have a good day and sounds like a delicious tea."

@sharonbspeakman commented: "Happy 11th birthday Jude! How cool to have Spiderman visit every year. Have a wonderful day." @ally_t_scott replied: "Happy birthday Jude you've got a really cool dad.

@sarahzecca joked: " Bet your dad's gutted he keeps missing Spider-Man, maybe he should make sure you've got plenty of milk the day before your birthday? Happy birthday Jude."

Earlier this week Jude was praised for his 'wonderful' words as he shared a message to his fellow students facing their SATs (Standard Assessment Tests) this week. Alongside the images of a poem which spoke about how the tests don't measure an individuals greatness as a whole, Jude wrote: "We have got this Year 6. We are almost there. SATS week is here. 2 crazy years of school or NO school or little school. WE ARE MORE THAN A TEST."

He added: "Good luck to everyone taking SATS this week. My school are doing a breakfast week for Y6 so our tums are full and we have time to settle."

Jude, who has played Sam in Corrie since October 2020, has been racking up the awards and award nominations after making his debut in Weatherfield as the son of Nick Tilsley and the late Natasha Blakeman. He won Best Newcomer at the Inside Soap awards and he collected the Best Newcomer gong at the National Television Awards.

He stole hearts during the ceremony back in September when host Joel Dommett has to lift him up to the mic so that he could give his acceptance speech.
