ITV Coronation Street gets 'new Rovers Return barmaid' as they give look into the future

Coronation Street appears to have found itself a new Rovers Return barmaid - sort of. Josie Gibson has been snapped in the famous boozer on a trip to the ITV soap's set for an upcoming film for This Morning.

The presenter took to Instagram to share snaps from her visit which also included a glimpse into the future. In the images, Josie could be seen behind the bar, which is usually occupied by landlady Jenny Connor, Daisy Midgeley Glenda Shuttleworth and Sean Tully, giving her best boss pose.

Another showed Josie appearing to be delighted as she threw her arms up and beamed for the camera while the former Big Brother winner also paid a visit to Webster's Autocentre, the business owned by her Corrie crush Kevin Webster. It comes after Josie revealed on This Morning in March last year that she had a soft spot for Michael Le Vell, who has played Kevin for nearly 40 years.

Speaking about Corrie with the show's soap queen Sharon Marshall, Josie got distracted by the picture of the soap character in his overalls. Sharon started by saying: "Look at Kev, all handsome in his overalls" to which Josie smiled and said: "I reckon he’s like a fine red wine. He gets better with age."

Phillip Schofield then turned to Josie and asked: "Would you like us to print that out for you?" and Josie who became unusually shy about the whole thing, replied: "Yeah." And just a week later Josie was left red-faced when she was sent a special message from the actor himself.

"Hi Josie. It's Michael Le Vell. I saw your little 'fine wine' comment on This Morning the other day," he started to say in the clip. "Someone sent it me, and you know what? Every now and again in the pub, I just play it to the lads to wind them up. But thanks a lot for that! And maybe one day we'll meet up in person in the studio! Thanks again and have a wonderful day."

Josie's face was completely flushed as she waved at the screen and said: "Oh, he's so handsome! He's so handsome! Yeah, he's lovely. Thanks for that! I didn't know anything about that! Wow, that was amazing. Um, yeah. He's definitely a fine red wine, isn't he?"

But back to her trip to the cobbles and Josie appeared to reveal that the soap will be celebrating King Charles' upcoming coronation. The Rovers could be seen decked out in Union Jack bunting while gold balloons spelling out 'CR III' were also hung up behind the bar.

"There's not many people who can say they've pulled a pint in the Rovers," Josie captioned her string of snaps. "@coronationstreet thank you for having us!!! What a surreal brilliant day. I was lucky enough to sit down and chat with some proper legends!!! Catch soon on @thismorning."

And fans were quick to comment. @jao73 said: "Josie the new Rovers return barmaid." @marybigaj wrote: "Suits you behind the bar." @marikaskrobaczsimmons commented: "You lucky gal, loving your new role." @narnia1hp posted: "Suits you behind the bar you should ask to be in an Episode."

@gavinwatson1971 replied: "You would make a brilliant landlady Josie." @howardhall938 shared: "Looking lovely Josie I'll have a pint please." @slimmerbazzz added: "You would make the best barmaid so you would. The place would be packed with your banter."
