ITV Coronation Street fans work out twist in Adam Barlow and Sarah Platt's marriage

Coronation Street fans have worked out a twist in Adam Barlow and Sarah Platt's marriage.

Wednesday's edition of the long-running soap continued to explore the blossoming friendship between Sarah and her new friend, Lydia.

The two enjoyed a glass of mulled wine on the Cobbles when they were approached by Adam on the latest episode.

However, things soon turned awkward when Lydia clearly recognised Adam before she introduced her son, Finn.

The character played by Sam Robertson initially told Sarah he had no idea who Lydia was before he eventually admitted going out on a couple of dates with her during university.

However, Coronation Street viewers on Twitter think there is more to the tale and Finn is actually Adam's son.

Ryan said: "Adam says he can't remember but really he's just hiding the fact he's had a long term affair with Lydia resulting in him having a child"

Owen added: "Sarah is clearly thinking that there’s history between Adam and Lydia, doesn’t take a genius to work that one out. Adam’s her son's dad."

Robert commented : "Adam already knows Lydia and bet that's his kid"

Dasy posted: "What's the chances Lydia's son is Adam's"

Russell added: "Adam is going to be the father of Lydia’s son isn’t he"

Nichola tweeted: "Do you think that maybe Adam is the father of Lydia's child in @itvcorrie"

Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 7.30pm ITV and ITV Hub
