ITV Coronation Street fans spot problems with Alya stabbing scenes as Max watches on

It's only been a couple of weeks since she stepped in to save the lives of her neighbours when a bomb was planted in Speed Dahl's van, but now Alya Nazir has found her life at risk again as she was stabbed in shock scenes.

During Wednesday night's trip to Weatherfield, fans of the ITV soap watched as teenager Blake appeared intent on causing damage as he live-streamed his visit to Maria Connor's refugee drop in which was being held in Alya's restaurant which she runs with her gran, Yasmeen.

It comes after both Maria and Alya become the target of an extremist group led by eco-warrior Griff Reynolds and his racist gang who groomed troubled teen Max Turner. And upon seeing the videos Max helped create for the terrifying gang, Blake decided to pull his own horrifying stunt.

After Councillor Connor gave her speech at the event organised to highlight the Weatherfield refugee drop-in centre which she has been campaigning for, Blake vowed to make her pay for helping others, meanwhile, Max was tuning in to Blake's racist rant online and raced to the scene when the fellow teen revealed a knife in the video.

But when he was refused access and told to leave by Maria's husband Gary Windass, chaos ensued as Blake ran towards Maria brandishing the knife with Max watching on. When Alya spots what is happening she jumps in front of Blake and he ended up stabbing her. As she fell to the floor the horrified guests realised what was happening and ran out onto the street as Gary and Daryan battled with Blake who was still brandishing the knife.

After Maira and Yasmeen tried to help a worsening Alya, help arrived and she was rushed to the hospital for a life-saving operation with the doctor telling her gran her lung had been punctured. Corrie fans flocked to social media as they asked how much more Alya could take.

However, others were quick to fume over the scenes, more specifically because of Max, played by Paddy Bever. @RyanTheSoapking tweeted: "Max should have rang the police as soon as he saw the video. He literally stood there and did nothing #Corrie." @taz_mtn wrote: "And why didn't Max say there's a knife fgs! It's like the bomb all over again #corrie."

@adlangford commented: "Max knew something bad would happen. Sure he came through in the end, but he knew something terrible would happen and was fine to just watch it play out. The stabbing, in part, is on him. #Corrie." @AntMelia94 added: "Max reacted the exact same way after the bomb threat, so I fully expect him to be back to evil ways in about a week #Corrie."

Others were confused as to how long Max had to run for before making it to the restaurant. @CoHesl asked: "Wasn't SpeedDaal the same end of the street as the Bistro? Where did Max just come from? #Corrie." @DPC123 echoed: "I thought this was Coronation Street so why did Max have to run five miles from his house? #Corrie."

Meanwhile, some spotted a problem with Alya's injuries. @Jamal06122771 commented: "Aliyah has a punctured lung.... Am sure she was pressing on her abdominals. #corrie." @DavidMackayy tweeted: "Punctured lung? That stab was in the stomach, her organs must be different to everybody else #Corrie."
