ITV Coronation Street fans spot embarrassing phone blunder

Eagle-eyed soap fans spotted an embarrassing phone blunder on Coronation Street tonight.

Toyah, played by Georgia Taylor, made a pleading phone call to Ali Neeson, played by James Burrows, about his addiction to prescription drugs.

But while leaving a voicemail, viewers noticed something odd going on with the screen of the smartphone.

As Toyah begged Ali to rethink going out looking for his next score, you could see her scrolling through the contacts prompting many to tweet about it.

One, @Char_Tutton said: "Why do soaps never hide the phone screens when someone’s leaving a voicemail or having a chat?"

Another, @createchaosss said: "Did anyone else see that fake phone call, scrolling the contacts with her face."

A third, @lozzzjarvis said: "Lool someone hasn't watched corrie...great pretending to be on a phone there by Toyah."

A fourth, @houseben said: "Toyah on the phone clearly had the contacts open scrolling from her ear!"

And a fifth @carol90783713 added: "Toyah you might wanna ring Ali again as ya phone was on ya contacts list love..!!!"

This is not the first time our favourite soaps have slipped up with phones, earlier this year EastEnders' Ruby held her phone upside down to make a "call".

The camera clearly visible at the bottom of the phone leaving viewers in hysterics.

One fan said : "Was Ruby just holding her phone upside down? Did I see the camera at the bottom."

*Coronation Street is on ITV1, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm
