ITV Coronation Street fans 'scream at TV' as Stu Carpenter makes kind gesture

Coronation Street fans feared the worst after noticing a superstitious blunder on tonight's episode.

Stu Carpenter wanted to show a token of his appreciation to Daryan after he helped Alya after she was stabbed by racist Blake. He had bought him a gift, which he presented to him in the Weatherfield cafe.

He said: "I got you a little something" as he placed a box onto the table in front of Daryan. Stu added: "It's nothing, just a token of our appreciation."

Daryan opened the box, with a huge smile on his face as he unveiled a new pair of trainers. But fans were outraged on Twitter over the kind gesture as they claimed it would bring the character bad luck due to a superstition.

Doreen said: "DON'T PUT SHOES ON THE TABLE! You've just brought Daryan bad luck you numpty! #corrie". Carole said: "Don't put new shoes on a table #corrie".

Another user said: "Omfg why doesn't Stu know that YOU DON'T PUT NEW SHOES ON A TABLE #Corrie." While a fourth added: "The poor lad is cursed!"
