ITV Coronation Street fans 'not emotionally prepared' for tough Oliver scenes

Coronation Street fans were left sobbing after Oliver's story came to a devastating conclusion.

In tonight's visit to the cobbles, emotions were high for Steve and Leanne as their son's case got worse and he had to be resuscitated after his liver failed. Their three-year-old son Oliver was tragically diagnosed with a rare form of a mitochondrial disease earlier this year.

Tonight, Leanne faced the toughest day of her life after deciding to drop the appeal. The couple decided to turn off Oliver's life support machine after months of trauma and sadness.

Leanne's son Simon was devastated after Toyah told him he would have to say his goodbyes.

In other scenes, a visit from Jenny's stepdaughter provided a welcome distraction, and Tim and Alya searched Geoff's home while he was out.

But Coronation Street fans were left feeling emotional over the scenes with little Oliver.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
