ITV Coronation Street fans make shock Gary Windass prediction amid Kelly's cellar escape error

Fans saw the return of Gary Windass' bad boy ways as he came to Kelly Neelan's rescue in Coronation Street. The teen got herself into quite a bit of bother as she went out of her way to repay some of her late dad's former clients.

The loan shark was killed by Gary in self defence in 2019 but his death was only discovered earlier this year when Kelly's mum Laura was doing some digging on her ex in a bid to secure his money for her daughter as she was dying of cancer. However, she was horrified to discover Gary had killed her estranged husband and it appeared Gary's time was up.

However, in a surprise twist, Laura took the blame for Rick's murder leaving Kelly distraught. Weeks later Laura tragically died in emotional scenes with Kelly changing her mind and visiting her when it was too late. In more recent weeks, viewers have known Kelly was up to something and it turns out she was trying to right her dad's wrongs by repaying his former clients using the cash Gary found when clearing his former home.

Despite being warned by friend Aadi Alahan about how dangerous it was, Kelly plowed on anyway without a problem - until she met Ross. He made a suspicious phone call after Kelly's visit and before viewers knew it, the teen was being bundled into a cellar after being kidnapped.

Earlier this week she was seen pleading to be set free but her kidnappers were very demanding, with Keiron telling her that he wanted the rest of her dad's money despite her cries that she hasn't got anymore and she's given away all he's got.

He ended up calling Gary from her phone to tell him that if he wants to see Kelly alive again, he needs to come up with £50k. And during Wednesday night's trip to the cobbles, Gary came to Kelly's rescue.

He managed to scrape together £24,000 and handed it over to the thugs but unbeknown to them, he had planted a tracker in the bag of cash in order to find out Kelly's location. Kelly was relieved when Gary came bursting through the cellar but it wasn't long before Gary was knocked to the ground by Kieron with a crowbar.

After he came back around, a violent fight ensued and it was left to Kelly to help, picking up the crowbar and knocking the kidnapper unconscious. But Gary's rage continued as he kicked her kidnapper's unconscious body.

A terrified Kelly begged him to stop before they escaped the room. They were later seen back at home with Gary's wife Maria after going to the police station but the pair didn't tell Maria the full truth about what happened.

But Corrie fans have predicted a shock twist could take place as they saw the return of the old Gary. @penniless_poet tweeted: "Kelly asking questions about her dad - is Gary going to kill her next? #Corrie." @Face420Ghost echoed: "Why do i feel like Gary will snap and kill Kelly? #Corrie."

Viewers, however, have also been left worried about Kelly. @AlistairGeddes tweeted: "Well done Kelly! Your fingerprints are all over that crowbar. What if another lowlife comes along and kills him. #corrie." @blue_laur11 said: "Why didn’t Kelly take the crowbar with her ! Her fingerprints will be all over it now #Corrie."

@SimmyKB commented: "For a crime’s kid she’s not very worldly wildly is she Kelly #fingerprints #corrie." @angelsflight_ He’s probably dead, the police will find the crowbar, go through the database and match her fingerprints #corrie." But others pointed out that the pair had visited the police station to make them aware of what happened which could put Kelly in the clear if there's future reprecutions.
