ITV Coronation Street fans heartbroken and in tears after Yasmeen degraded by Geoff

ITV Coronation Street fans were left in tears after the latest development in the coercive control storyline featuring Yasmeen and her abusive husband Geoff.

After being diagnosed with an STI on Monday's visit to the cobbles, fans were keen to see Geoff punished.

Instead, the master manipulator turned the tables on his wife and swore the STI wasn't his fault - even going to far as to make her apologise to him.

In later scenes, he discovered a suitcase Yasmeen had stashed away.

Vile Geoff emptied the contents in the garden and set them on fire - which raised eyebrows from neighbour Sally.

After Yasmeen came back into the house, Geoff ordered her to get on her knees and promise she wouldn't leave him.

Nervous, Yasmeen said: "I'm not going anywhere."

In a chilling reply, Geoff said he'd rather see Yasmeen dead than with someone else.

Coronation Street fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One fan said: "Honestly cried when Yasmeen got on her knees and Geoff made her say 'I’m not going anywhere'. My heart broke."

Kim commented: "The Geoff and Yasmeen storyline is so hard to watch ( I just want to smash his face in) but hopefully it's raising awareness and understanding to what some of the vulnerable in our society are facing."

Another said: "It's so sad watching this knowing that woman, men are going through this, if it was me, I'd t**t him with the suitcase, put him in it and bury the f*****."

Lauren added: "I HATE GEOFF!!"

But some viewers were devastated Geoff was yet to get his comeuppance after teasing trailers have been aired on ITV this week.

Jayne said: "Don’t keep saying Geoff's getting it - then leave us hanging AGAIN".

Garin added: "Bruv is Yasmeen going to do Geoff in then or what."

The long-running coercive control storyline is expected to come to a dramatic close this Friday.
