ITV Coronation Street fans 'gutted' after show is cancelled

Coronation Street fans have said they are "gutted" over a shake up on Friday night's ITV's schedule.

Wednesday's episode saw Tim reel in shock as he learnt he needs a triple heart bypass.

Elsewhere, a guilt-ridden Emma and Faye struggled to keep their cool in the wake of Ted's death.

Pensioner Ted, who later died at his flat, was knocked over by Emma and Faye on New Year's Eve.

While Ted managed to get back up off the ground, seemingly unharmed, the girls were shocked to later find him dead in his armchair.

Emma and Faye returned to his flat after initially taking him home as the guilt of what they had done crept up on Emma.

But upon finding him lifeless, the pair panicked and soon decided to keep the accident and Ted's death a secret.

Many soap fans are wondering if the two will be found out, and it looks like there'll be longer to wait to find out, as Coronation Street will not air on ITV tonight (Friday).

Instead of airing Corrie, ITV and the ITV Hub will instead be broadcasting third round action from the FA Cup.

The Weatherfield-based soap has been bumped from the listings, in favour of coverage as Swindon Town take on Manchester City.

And a number of Corrie fans are not happy, with many taking to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Ryan Oxley said: "Corrie isn't on tonight due to a ball game or summat" [sic]

Lydia Gerver said: "Absolutely gutted there's no #Corrie tonight. I really don't care for soccerball." [sic]

Anna Louise Smith said: "Really not happy about the lack of Corrie tbh"

Coronation Street returns to ITV for a double episode on Monday
