ITV Coronation Street fans fear for Summer and work out second baby twist as Mike founds out the truth amid 'missing' scene

Coronation Street fans have been left fearing for Summer Spellman after her lies were uncovered. As viewers of the ITV soap already knew, the teen suffered a miscarriage but kept the loss from couple Mike and Esther who had already arranged to buy the baby from her and her boyfriend Aaron.

This year hasn't been an easy one for Summer, played by Harriet Bibby, due to her diabetes diagnosis and battle with bulimia. And her relationship with Aaron, played by James Craven, hasn't been an easy one either due to his loyalties to his alcoholic dad.

But it wasn't too long ago that Summer discovered she was pregnant and after speaking to Aaron about whether they should continue with the pregnancy and have their baby, it was decided that she would have an abortion. However, Esther and Mike, the parishioners of Summer's guardian Billy Mayhew, stepped in and said they wanted to adopt her baby - and handed over £10,000 to them.

Desperate for the money to send Aaron's dad to rehab, the pair accepted and Summer was keeping her pregnancy a secret from Billy as well as her other 'two dads' Paul Foreman and Todd Grimshaw. But in scenes at the end of last month, Summer and Aaron discovered alcoholic Eric had been drinking again but as they rushed to his aid, Summer discovered she was bleeding and was devastated to discover she’s suffered a miscarriage.

But in order to get more cash for Eric to return to rehab, Summer and Aaron have been lying to Mike and Esther about still being pregnant. Despire planning on telling the couple the truth, Summer and Aaron backed out upon discovering Esther's mum had died.

However, they were backed into a corner when Mike paid them a visit. Talking about his wife Esther, the conversations soon turned to Summer and the scan appointment she had earlier in the day. Asking to see the scan phone, Mike appeared confused when Summer pulled up a picture on her mobile phone, after she found it online.

He soon had questions and eventually turned to the panicked factory worker and asked: "Are you lying to me?" Summer was therefore forced to tell him the truth and begged for his understanding. Asking when the miscarriage was, Mike realised Summer had taken money from them after that it happened.

"I want it back – every penny," he demanded before threatening to go to the police. Aaron tried to argue that buying a baby is illegal so Mike shouldn't be concerning the police. However, Mike's behaviour became increasingly threatening and clearly worried, Summer promised she’d get him his money.

As he left, Mike declared: "You disgust me," and Corrie fans watching the scenes unfold were unnerved by Mike's change in demeanor. @tandcbroking tweeted: "I really hope Mike isn’t a violent man and reacts badly to the news by going on a killing streak on the street, starting with Summer and Aaron….#Corrie."

@Clawmaw commented: "Summer and Aaron had both better sleep with one eye open. Esther and Mike are coming for them! #Corrie." @ConversationStr added: "Ooo, Mike was actually a bit scary this evening when he found out that Summer had been lying! #corrie."

And some are thinking another baby twist is on the cards. @CheshireOne said: "My prediction is Summer really gets pregnant with Mike's child in lieu of returning the £10,000 then him and Esther can legitimately take the child." @janwilkins59 added: "I'd say thank goodness for that, but this sets up a Summer having Mike's baby scenario, can it all just be over, PLEASE!*! #Corrie."

But the Coronation Street podcast The Talk of the Street did point out a missing detail in the latest scenes. They tweeted: "After months of build-up and lies and stupid decisions, I feel kinda swindled that #corrie just totally skipped over Summer's confession, almost like there was no plausible way to write it, and jumped straight to the acrimony aftermath. Tut."
