ITV Coronation Street fans distracted during Fiz and Phill's wedding ceremony before disaster

Soap weddings rarely run smooth and despite a series of things going wrong ahead of their big day, Fiz Stape and Phill Whittaker did manage to say 'I Do' in Coronation Street. Whether their marriage would last, however, was quickly revealed as the new Mrs Whittaker jilted her new husband at their reception.

The big day was almost derailed when Phill's ex, Camilla, arrived and revealed she and her former husband were still in love. However, it wasn't true as Fiz's troublesome daughter Hope had been going out of her way to secretly stop the wedding by sending emails to Camilla from Phill's account.

Then, on the morning of the wedding, the registrar was cancelled causing the nuptials to almost be over. Fiz did, however, eventually make it down the aisle and despite a wobble during her vows as she locked eyes with her ex Tyrone Dobbs after he confessed he still loved her and gifted her with a pair of sentimental earrings, Fiz and Phill were pronounced man and wife.

Then, just hours later during the reception at the Bistro, Fiz pulled a tearful Phill to one side and told him their marriage was already over. As she did a runner, Phill took to the mic and performed an emotional rendition of Build Me Up (Buttercup) to the stunned guests.

But it was the wedding that really caused a distraction for Corrie viewers as they took in the venue and its limited guest list.

He & Hayley fostered Fizz when she first came to the street #Corrie." @ChrisAnstey74 added: "Why isn’t Roy at the wedding, awkwardly giving Fiz away? #Corrie."

While many of their whereabouts is unknown, Fiz did say early in the episode that Chesney was in bed with the 'lurgy' meaning Tyrone's appearance at the ceremony would be doing her 'a favour' with the numbers.

But Corrie fans were still distracted by the lack of people. @DawnLeane said: "Very big venue for 6 guests #Corrie." @LunaLocoJewels asked: "Does the wedding party outnumber the guests? #corrie." @LyndseyFitz tweeted: "Not many guests, love #Evelyn @itvcorrie."
