ITV Coronation Street fans beg 'just stop' as Mike and Esther make new offer to Summer

Coronation Street fans were left horrified when Mike and Esther returned to Weatherfield with a new offer for Summer Spellman after they discovered she was lying to them about still being pregnant. The teen has been embroiled in a web of lies after falling pregnant with boyfriend Aaron Sandford.

After talking it through, the pair decided they weren't ready to be parents and with concerns for Summer's health following her diabetes diagnosis and her battle with bulimia, they decided for Summer to have an abortion. However, Mike and Esther came in and, desperate for a child of their own, they approached Summer with a different solution.

The parishioners of Summer's guardian Billy Mayhe discovered she was expecting and her doubts, so stepped in and said they wanted to adopt her baby - and handed over £10,000 to them. Desperate for the money to send Aaron's dad, Eric, to rehab, the pair accepted and their lies began.

Summer kept her pregnancy hidden from Billy as well as her other 'two dads' Paul Foreman and Todd Grimshaw. After Eric appeared to turn a corner following his rehab stint, things quickly changed when he turned up at their flat drunk. At the same time, Summer discovered she was bleeding and was devastated to discover she’d suffered a miscarriage.

But still needing more cash to help Eric, they lied to Esther and Mike about the baby and took more of their money. However, the truth came out in scenes this week. Summer and Aaron were backed into a corner when Mike paid them a visit following a scan.

Talking about his wife Esther, and the death of her mother, the conversations soon turned to Summer and the scan appointment and asking to see the scan photo, Mike appeared confused when Summer pulled up a picture on her mobile phone, after she found it online.

He soon had questions and eventually turned to the panicked factory worker and asked: "Are you lying to me?" Summer was therefore forced to tell him the truth and begged for his understanding. Asking when the miscarriage was, Mike realised Summer had taken money from them after that it happened.

He demanded the money back, leaving Summer panicked and during Wednesday night's trip to the cobbles, it appears Mike and Esther had put their heads together and came up with a solution to both of their problems. They suggested Summer still be their surrogate but this time, the baby would be Mike's.

They suggested they do it properly and get a family lawyer involved and that she'd still get paid expenses. While Aaron was instantly against the idea, Summer was more open. In complete despair of Summer's plans to go ahead with the surrogacy, he secretly told Billy who confronted Summer.

Summer blamed best friend Amy Barlow for spilling the truth and when she denied everything, an upset Aaron own up. Angry over his betrayal, Summer told Aaron she needed space and the couple's relationship looks set to be over. Meanwhile, Corrie fans were flocking to social media with their thoughts on the latest twist.

@floweroflondon tweeted: "Stop it. Just stop everything Summer. #Corrie." @LillyBelle19 said: "No no no no no no no no no no no, hells nah Summer. We have endured enuf baby s***e #Corrie." @pam_debeauvoir commented: "I beg of you scriptwriters, please stop Summer from making me cross #Corrie."

@1stLadyHooligan complained: "I'm so over this baby storyline & if Summer goes through with it then she deserved what she gets. doubt Esther & Mike will let Summer out of their sight if she agrees. #Corrie." @sofaneilas laughed: "Lmao, sorry ITV - i've never sold my child to a crazy couple then stole more money from them - then promised them a new bambino! My twenties were well boring compared to one week of Summer's life #corrie."
