Coronation Street fans were stunned at Mary and George's plan to keep thugs off Todd's back tonight.
In tonight's visit to the cobbles, George revealed his plan to stage a mock funeral so gangster Mick will think Todd is dead.
Eileen, not aware of the plan, called her son to tell him she had scraped together £1,300 in a bid to "save his bacon".
Later, Mary asked Eileen to wear something "funereal" and accompany her to the flower shop.
In other scenes, the Platts prepared for Audrey's belated 80th birthday party as Shona questioned why people were going ahead with belated parties in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Tyrone was confused when Evelyn and Arthur returned early from the Lakes with conflicting stories.
Evelyn claimed the blow up bed was "flat as a pancake" but Tyrone questioned if that meant they really had to come back.
Scott ordered Johnny to meet him to talk him through his plan.
