ITV Coronation Street Daisy Midgeley actress' secret pop star past unveiled

Daisy Midgeley has been a key character on Coronation Street ever since she first arrived on the show in November last year.

Jenny Connor's scheming step-daughter is played by Charlotte Jordan - and the actress hopes her character can become an "iconic" Corrie bad girl like Tracy Barlow.

She has ruffled feathers ever since her arrival on Weatherfield and played a part in the breakdown of her mum's relationship with ex-husband Johnny Connor.

Most recently she has become a love interest for Daniel Osbourne, which has had a knock on effect for Summer Spellman.

The troubled teen developed romantic feelings for her school teacher, which led her to dump boyfriend Aadi Alahan when she thought Daniel invited her to see a play.

However, Summer was heartbroken when she discovered Daniel was actually asking if she was free to babysit so he could go to the theatre with Daisy.

This had led to her becoming intensely jealous of Daisy - and fans this week became concerned this could develop into an eating disorder.

Charlotte's continued involvement in major storylines indicate her time in Weatherfield is set to continue, but the 26-year-old's career nearly went in a completely different trajectory.

Charlotte told the Mirror how she was scouted to be a part of pop band when she was 16 and even shared pictures on her social media accounts alongside Spice Girls icon, Geri Horner.

However, the project never really got going and the music dream ended in heartache.

She said: "I was with them for over two years, but we never even got launched in the end. We did choreography, we bonded and developed a rapport and recorded a bunch of songs, but we never released a single and we never even settled on a name.

"We went through so many different names that eventually the management just referred to us as The Band. It was quite the learning curve.

"I thought maybe it would be different if I was on my own, but it wasn’t. It was only when I got a bit older that I realised acting was what I wanted."

Charlotte picked up her first acting role in an episode of The Bill and has since appeared in Casualty and Netflix' s Free Rein on her journey to becoming a Corrie fan favourite.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV and ITV Hub
