ITV Coronation Street blunder spotted as Chesney Brown bids tearful goodbye to Joseph

Coronation Street viewers were quick to spot a blunder during last night's episode.

Monday's hour long edition of the ITV soap continued to explore Chesney Brown's relationship with son Joseph.

The character, played by William Flanagan, told his dad he wanted to move away to Portugal with his nan, Linda Hancock, in the latest instalment.

Joseph made the decision after he misunderstood a conversation between his parents as he felt he was getting in the way of their attempts to raise the quadruplets.

Chesney accepted his son's decision as he conceded Linda may be able to offer him a better upbringing after he has experienced financial difficulties.

The family bid an emotional farewell on the Cobbles as Joseph prepared for his new life in Portugal.

However, viewers were distracted during the emotional scene as Bernie Winter assured Joseph his uncle would contact him at 7pm "your time".

Viewers following the show on Twitter took to the social media platform to point out that there is no time difference between Portugal and UK.

Buxy said: "Someone needs to tell the writers of @itvcorrie that Portugal is the same time zone at the UK."

Glenn added: "Hi Bernie, word to the wise; Portuguese time is GMT. You're welcome"

Phil tweeted: "7 o'clock your time." Portugal is in the same time zone as UK"

Greg commented : "Your time"? Portugal is on the same time zone as the UK"

Paul messaged: "#Portugal is the same time zone as the UK is it not"

Hope Stape later told Chesney the reason why Joseph departed which prompted the character, played by Sam Aston, to dash to the airport to convince his son to stay in Weatherfield.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV and ITV Hub
