Two of the country's soaps collided this week as Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and Hollyoaks actress Ruby O'Donnell caught up at a celebrity-filled event. The pair took to Instagram to share a glimpse of their evening on Thursday night (July 27) at Manchester's Rosso restaurant.
The soap stars were showing their support for former Corrie actress Arianna Ajtar who announced the collaboration between her fashion brand, Mars The Label, and WeShop - the world’s first shopping platform which rewards shares in the company for every purchase. Arianna, who played Olivia Radfield in the ITV soap, was supported at the event by her former co-stars and a host of Love Island contestants.
And Ruby and Ellie appeared to enjoy their evening which also featured a special performances from former Love Island star Wes Nelson, who performed his latest single along with his previous hits including TikTok favourite 'Nice to meet you'.

The girls, who star as Peri Lomax and Faye Windass in their respective soaps, also got the fashion memo as they both appeared in almost the same outfit. Taking to Instagram with a stunning selfie, Ruby wrote: "@ellielouiseleach so much love."
Ellie, 21, then replied: "Black blazer crew," referring to their twinning outfits. While Ruby donned a black dress under her long-line blazer which she paired with a chunky pair of boots, Ellie opted to wear her tailored blazer over a black vest top which she tucked into a pair of denim shorts to show off her holiday glow.
The Bury-born actress has recently jetted back to the UK from a sunny trip abroad. She shared a series of selfies on Instagram, showing off her various holiday looks. In one, Ellie could be seen staring into the camera as she wore a white and black spotted top.
"Sunkissed," she captioned the snap to her thousands of followers, referring to her tanned skin and brunette locks which had been left to naturally curl.
It came just a few weeks after Ellie had already enjoyed a break away from Manchester. Sharing more photos to social media, she looked a world away from Faye's woes on the famous cobbles as she posed in her tangerine dream of a holiday outfit. She showed off her golden glow in her ruched ruffle-detail mini dress as she headed out for the night.
"First night on our hols," she wrote with a matching orange love-heart emoji on her Instagram. Ellie, who has played Faye for 11 years, accessorised her summer dress with gold sandals and a matching quilted clutch.
She wore her brunette tresses in beachy curls and looked happy and relaxed as she struck a series of poses for the camera. And the compliments came flooding in.
Her Coronation Street co-star cousin Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster, commented: "Prinny x" Paddy Bever, who plays Max Turner in the soap, shared a love heart and flame emoji. And Millie Gibson who plays Kelly Neelan gasped: "Okay beauty."
