ITV Coronation Street and Emmerdale stars come together on 80s themed red carpet in Manchester

Coronation Street and Emmerdale stars were hitting an 80s themed red carpet as they headed out in Manchester.

Stars of the ITV soaps were snapped as they gathered to watch Footloose at Machester Opera House.

Dancing on Ice winner and former X Factor star Jake Quickenden is starring in the show as loveable cowboy Willard which comes off the back of two critically acclaimed tours and a West End run.

Among the famous faces posing in front of the giant stereo walkman was Corrie star Ellie Leach, who plays Faye Windass in the ITV soap.

The 20-year-old actress beamed as she arrived on the red carpet in a chick ensemble, pairing black leather look trousers with black top and checkered blazer.

Also arriving from Weatherfield was co-star siblings Rebecca and Jack James Ryan who are best known to viewers as the street's newest stars Jacob Hay and Lydia Chambers.

The pair huddled on the red carpet to protect themselves from the chilly weather as they posed for the awaiting cameras.

Corrie's Rob Mallard (DAVE NELSON)

Also waving the Corrie flag were Daniel Osbourne actor Rob Mallard and Kel Allen, who stars in the soap as Laura Neelan.

And it was Kel who got the cost memo as she added a big, long-line puffa jacket to her red carpet look.

Coming over from the Dales was Vinny Dingle actor Bradley Johnson who looked completely different from his on-screen character as he ditched his trademark glasses.

Emmerdale's Bhasker Patel (DAVE NELSON)

He arrived separately to his Emmerdale co-star Bhasker Patel who viewers will best know as Rishi Sharma.

The 66-year-old actor gave the cameras a massive smile as he marveled at the lifesize walkman bringing attention to the red carpet.

The start-studded turn out comes just a week after Kym Marsh took to the stage as she brought her show, Fatal Attraction, home to Manchester with many of her former co-stars coming out in support.

The actress - who played Michelle Connor in the ITV soap for 13 years - has been performing as Alex Forrest, the role famously played by Glenn Close in the 1987 box office smash, across the country.

Corrie's Millie Gibson (Kelly Neelan), Sally Ann Matthews (Jenny Connor), Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgley), Sair Khan (Alya Nazir), Julia Goulding (Shona Platt), Ellie Leach (Faye Windass), Daniel Brocklebank (Billy Mayhew), and Antony Cotton (Sean Tully) were among the stars who turned out to watch Kym during her hometown performance.
