ITV confirms start date for new dramas The Singapore Grip and Des

ITV dramas are making a comeback with two new series set to air this month.

The broadcaster has announced the start date for highly anticipated series The Singapore Grip and the three-part drama, Des.

The Singapore Grip has been adapted from Booker Prize winner J.G. Farrell's novel by Oscar winning screenwriter and playwright Christopher Hampton.

It has a star-studded cast including Luke Treadaway, David Morrissey, Elizabeth Tan, Jane Horrocks, Colm Meaney and Charles Dance.

Produced by Mammoth Screen for ITV, the drama follows a British family living in 1940s Singapore at the time of the Japanese invasion.

It will air on Sunday, September 13 at 9pm with all six episodes becoming available to watch on Britbox.co.uk immediately following the first episode on ITV.

Des will air on ITV on Monday, September 14 at 9pm (PA)

Meanwhile David Tennant will play serial killer Dennis Nilsen in the true-crime drama Des.

The series focuses on one of the most infamous criminal cases in UK history and will be aired in three parts.

Des starts Monday, September 14 at 9pm on ITV.
