ITV confirms I'm A Celebrity will return to Australia as new details released

ITV has confirmed I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! will return to the Australian jungle this year.

The past two series of the ITV programme were filmed at Gwyrch Castle in Wales after the coronavirus pandemic forced producers to abandon plans to make the programme at its usual base in Australia.

However, as travel restrictions have now been lifted in the country, a new cast of celebrities will be heading to the jungle to battle it out in TV’s toughest entertainment challenge.

This series will take place over three weeks, with reports suggesting the show will be brought forward to prevent clashing with the World Cup in November.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will return as hosts. ITV said: "Returning to its home in Australia after a two-year break, our celebrities will leave their plush pads and luxuries far behind as they spend up to three weeks taking on the Australian jungle with a whole host of surprises created just for them.

"Whoever does end up in the legendary jungle camp will find themselves cut off from the outside world and their fate will be in the hands of viewers who could decide to send them into a dreaded Bushtucker Trial.

"Our BAFTA award-winning hosts Ant & Dec are back to present all the big stories live every night. Who will be crowned this year’s King or Queen of the Jungle? Find out this Autumn on ITV."
