ITV confirms I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here will return but jungle line-up is still secret

ITV has confirmed its flagship show I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! will be returning later this year - despite doubts amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

The show set in Australia's jungle will be back in the autumn after initial plans were left in disarray by the ongoing crisis.

It will be the 20th series and ITV has also confirmed it will broadcast a one-off programme called I'm A Celebrity: A Jungle Story, celebrating the show's best moments over the years, MirrorOnline reports.

Regular hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are expected to return when plans are finalised and fans can take a look at the rumoured line up here.

The most recent series was won by EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa, with runners up including radio presenter Roman Kemp, and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner.

It was recently reported that contestants, who are not yet confirmed, may have to quarantine for two weeks in Australia before the show begins, because of coronavirus restrictions.

Every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of production crew as well as the celebs who will be living in the jungle.

It could mean that some celebrities will be spending five weeks away from loved ones and adding to the feeling of homesickness in the camp and lead to a tearful time for some.

A show source said: "I’m A Celeb is one of the toughest reality shows out there and adding a two-week quarantine period is only going to make it harder.

“The welfare of the campmates is the biggest concern, so having them possibly put in quarantine for a fortnight lessens the risk of anyone falling ill."

Stand-out moments over the years, include Katie Price and Peter Andre meeting and falling in love on the show.

Other unforgettable incidents included Gillian McKeith's dramatic faint which became the subject of much debate over its authenticity, and Gemma Collins's tough few days with an upset stomach before she sensationally quit the jungle.
