ITV confirms All Star Musicals will return to air in Dancing on Ice's time slot

ITV have confirmed that All Star Musicals will return in the slot usually taken by Dancing on Ice.

After a tense final last Sunday, it was Capital host Sonny Jay who took home the 2021 trophy on the rink, ahead of Faye Brookes and Colin Jackson.

And, now the dust has settled on his victory, there's a new show waiting in the wings to entertain this weekend after proving a big success over the past two years.

Previously won by Coronation Street stars Lucy Fallon, who triumphed as Evita and Daniel Brocklebank, who took the spoils as The Greatest Showman last time, All Star Musicals is back this Sunday at 6.30pm.

Actress Jessica Hynes, barrister and broadcaster Robert Rinder, actor Barney Walsh, political journalist Robert Peston, doctor and presenter Dr Ranj Singh, and actress Luisa Bradshaw-White who will all be aiming to impress the star panel and virtual audience.

The one-off special has already been filmed with Dancing on Ice judge John Barrowman back as the show’s host with Elaine Paige heading up a panel of critics with a distinguished history in the West End and on Broadway.

Joining Elaine on the panel will be returning Trevor Dion Nicholas (Hamilton, Aladdin) and Samantha Barks, who first shot to fame on BBC show I'd Do Anything in 2008 before going on to star in the film version of Les Miserables and in Pretty Woman on Broadway.

She joins the panel ahead of her stint as Elsa in the West End production of Frozen.

Each of the celebrities will be scored by the virtual audience and the critics with both votes combined to determine who will be ‘top of the bill’ and the 2021 All Star Musicals champion.
