ITV Chase viewers accuse Bradley Walsh of ‘fixing’ the final round in Chaser’s favour

Fans of the Chase were less than impressed when a team’s incredible comeback in the final round was dashed at the eleventh hour.

Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett pipped the team at the post with just three seconds to go - and fans of the ITV game show reckon it’s all down to host Bradley Walsh.

Quiz master Bradders is responsible for reading out all the questions - to both the Chasers and the teams - and some viewers reckon they’ve noticed a disparity between the speed in which he reads them.

They believe that Bradley recites the questions normally for the contestants, and then quickens his pace for the professional quizzers to allow them more time to answer.

Tuesday’s final tense round saw the Marie, Owen and Soozie, who were battling for £18,000, push The Beast back four times after he enjoyed an early run of correct answers.

Bradley pointed out that the team needed the fourth member, Guy - who had been knocked out - to help them to victory.

But viewers had a very different take on the situation.

One tweeted: “As ever, fixed. Chaser questions were mostly 6-10 words long to save time, questions were easy and Brad speeds up when asking the Chasers questions. And I should know, I’ve been on the show.”

A second said: “Nah 3 seconds to go for 18k, Brad is mocking it.. he could just read the last questions a little slower.”

A third posted: “A final chase of twists and turns today; The Beast cruising towards a win with 30s to spare only to let complacency get the better of him. 15s left on the clock, 3 answers required.. he only went and pulled it out the bag 3s before time. You couldn’t write it.”

Another raged: “Are ITV ever going  to pay out ??? Notice how Brad, reads the Chasers questions, really quickly ???”

The Manchester Evening News has contacted ITV for a comment.

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV.
