ITV Britain's Got Talent fans threaten to switch off after first three acts

Britain's Got Talent fans quickly spotted a common thread running through the first three acts of Saturday night's show — and some weren't especially happy about it. The show kicked off with nine-year-old Mischa Palor dancing to Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

She was followed by twelve-year-old Cormac Thompson who impressed with his version of Run by Snow Patrol. And next came a children's choir. The younger acts on Britain's Got Talent can inspire a huge amount of emotion in both judges and viewers — but they weren't pulling on everyone's heart strings.

Writing on Twitter, one viewer said: "URGH!!!!!!! If another kids dance act comes on I’m switching off #BGT" while another wrote: "1 more kid & I’m turning it over #BGT."

A third said: "We might see an act that's over 12 years old tonight if we're lucky but I wouldn't hold my breath #BGT" while user @IndeedItsMark added: "Oh no! It’s a children choir now. This is the kids edition #BGT." @cloudstyro asked: "are there going to be any adults on?? or?? #bgt."

@JayHBaker94 wrote: "Tonight's episode of BGT is sponsored by ToysRus #BGT."

But plenty of viewers loved it, with @LyndaPaceAvery1 saying: "There should be a kids #BGT. Judges always say all kids are "adorable". #TheVoiceKids works why not #BGT." @Tyrese54275942 agreed: "They should do Britain's Got Talents Kids just like The Voice Kids #BGT." And @Rosie12_1994 wrote: "#BGT love the fact that it's for all ages... it's great."
