ITV Britain's Got Talent fans recognise singer Linda John Pierre from popular TV advert

Britain's Got Talent viewers took to social media to say they knew singer Linda John Pierre before from a well-known advert. The singer wowed the judges and audience with her amazing vocals as she performed a rendition of Jocelyn Brown's Somebody Else’s Guy.

She received a standing ovation with the audience dancing to her lively audition. Many viewers spotted that Linda is used to being on television as she appeared on the advertisement for Mecca Bingo, The Mirror reports.

With her purple highlights, Linda is shown in the ads as 'Mabel' where she dances around a living room in the brand's 'Are you ready to play?' campaign. "That's not Linda... that's Mabel.. she's always bingo ready!!" one Twitter user tweeted.

Another excited fan added: "Came on Twitter just to see if anyone else thought the same or was I going mad! She's always bingo ready!" Simon Cowell said he worried people wouldn't come on the show and instead would just use things like social media to grow their platform. However, he says he has actually seen an increase in those applying for the show.

He said: "I was thinking a few years ago, with all these social media platforms, because you've got so many different areas now for you to become famous. I was wondering, does that mean they're not going to come on our show anymore.

"But, weirdly it's gone the other way. If you've got a social media following, they then consider - not everyone, but a lot of people - they now consider coming on a show like this as a next platform.

"Because you kind of need both really to really kind of pop, because there's so many people on social media platforms trying to get noticed. So it's been an interesting dynamic over the past few years and I really noticed that this year."
