ITV Beat the Chasers viewers call for contestant to be hired for hit show

ITV Beat the Chasers viewers have called for a contestant to become a Chaser after tonight's episode.

The spin-off of the hit quiz show The Chase sees contestants face two, three, four or all five Chasers at once in a bid to win a cash prize.

Last night's episode finished with Sally, from Cheshire, deciding to take on all five Chasers for a chance at a £75,000 jackpot.

But viewers had to wait until tonight to see how she fared.

Opening the second episode of Beat the Chasers, Sally gave a valiant effort and managed to answer a string of questions successfully in a tense back-and-forth with the quiz experts.

Unfortunately, she was caught with just a few seconds to spare.

The Chasers, and viewers, were impressed with her efforts.

Fans of the quiz show took to Twitter and called for the player to be given a position as a Chaser.

One viewer said: "Sally deserves to be a Chaser. Well played".

Nick commented: "Make Sally a chaser!"

Hannah said: "Go on Sally!!! That was impressive!"

Cece said: "Well done Sally, that was brilliant! #BeatTheChasers Sorry you lost."

Naomi commented: "Ahh Sally was so close!"

Craig added: "Was rooting for you Sally!"

Another fan said: "Damn, Sally was good, if she'd taken the lower offer, she'd have won".

Dave said: "That was tense as f**k, I was sweating for Sally".

Sally was followed by student Travis, who joked with host Bradley Walsh about the latest series of Doctor Who.

The 18-year-old took on three of the Chasers for £10,000 but he also proved unsuccessful.

*Beat the Chasers will air every night this week at 9pm on ITV
