ITV Ant and Dec Saturday Night Takeaway viewers in tears after women make Leap Day proposals

Viewers have been left feeling emotional watching Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

With it being a leap year, Ant and Dec helped helped women from across the country pop the question to their partners.

That meant men were surprised with being proposed to by their girlfriends live on televison.

Of course, in typical Saturday Night Takeaway-style there were twists with six proposals happening in 10 minutes.

One man from Newcastle was surprised when his long-distance girlfriend from New York turned up in the audience to ask him the all important question.

Woman secretly proposed to boyfriend 22 times before popping the question live on TV

Another man was shocked when Ant and Dec cut to a live feed of them him watching the show at home, his partner of 30 years then asked him to marry her.

The show then cut live to co-host Stephen Mulhern, who turned up to a restaurant to reveal the announcement to another unsuspecting man.

Both those in the audience and those watching at home were moved by the declarations of love.

kristenyep Tweeted: " Crying at women proposing on Saturday night takeaway."

Another Twitter user, @KelcieTyers said: " Saturday night takeaway wanna behave two Saturdays in a row they’ve had me crying it’s only been on 10 minuets."

Anja99056461 commented: "what a start to the show oh my God I'm crying, love is in the air"

Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway is on Saturday night from 7pm to 9.30pm.
