Itten and Roofe in front three - the Rangers team fans want to see now new signings have arrived

There's plenty of intrigue surrounding Steven Gerrard's team selection for Rangers' home clash with St Mirren.

With Cedric Itten and Kemar Roofe both arriving at Ibrox this week, and Gerrard admitting Alfredo Morelos' head has been turned by transfer speculation, the identity of Rangers' starting striker could tell us a great deal.

All signs seem to indicate Morelos is on his way out of Ibrox, and it's fair to say fans were less than impressed with his showing against Bayer Leverkusen in midweek.

Gerrard says that Roofe might also be a week or so from full fitness having not played a lot of football of late.

So could Itten be in-line for his debut when Jim Goodwin's Buddies arrive in Govan this afternoon?

We asked Rangers fans to name their ideal starting XI now the new signings have arrived, and it made some real interesting reading.

Both Roofe and Itten feature in a front three, with no spot for Morelos, while Ianis Hagi has been pushed back into a central midfield role.

Leon Balogun obviously did enough to impress in his debut against Aberdeen last weekend, and he keeps his place in the centre of defence ahead of Filip Helander and George Edmundson.

The results came from an article posted on Glasgow Live on Friday in which we asked supporters to name their ideal starting line-up for this weekend.

Rangers' match against St Mirren will kick-off at 3pm, with the action available on a live stream to all season ticket holders.

The game is also available on pay per view through the Rangers TV website.

Clive Tyldesley will be on commentary with the line-up including Emma Dodds, Neil McCann, Alex Rae and special guest Niko Katic.

We'll have all the latest build-up, score updates, key events and reaction right here on Glasgow Live throughout the afternoon.
