Italy vs Spain: Euros semi-final prediction, kick off time, team news, lineups, venue, h2h results, latest odds

Italy and Spain go head to head in a huge Euro 2020 semi-final showdown at Wembley tonight.

The Azzurri look in fearsome form, making in 15 wins in a row and 32 games unbeaten by dispatching the world’s top-ranked team Belgium in Munich in the last eight.

Spain appeared to have found their own scoring touch but were back to their profligate best as they scraped past 10-man Switzerland on penalties in Saint Petersburg.

It’s to the home of football this evening as they face off for a place in Sunday’s final.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Italy vs Spain is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off tonight - Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

The match will be held at Wembley Stadium in London, with 60,000 fans in attendance, though quarantine rules mean there will be no supporters travelling from Italy or Spain.

Where to watch Italy vs Spain

TV channel: Tonight’s match will be televised live on BBC One for free.

Live stream: UK viewers will also be able to watch the game unfold online via the BBC iPlayer.

Italy vs Spain team news

Italy will be without Leonardo Spinazzola after the Roma full-back - one of the best players at the tournament - was stretchered off against Belgium and subsequently underwent surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon. He will be sidelined for several months.

Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri will be expected to deputise for Spinazzola, as he did off the bench against Belgium.

Spain withdrew Pablo Sarabia at half-time of their win over Switzerland due to a muscle injury and he isn’t expected to be fit for tonight.

RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo should replace the Paris Saint-Germain attacker once more.

Starting lineups

Italy (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Emerson; Barella, Jorginho, Verratti; Chiesa, Immobile, Insigne

Spain (4-3-3): Unai Simón; Azpilicueta, Laporte, Eric García, Jordi Alba; Koke, Busquets, Pedri; Dani Olmo, Ferrán Torres, Oyarzabal

Italy vs Spain prediction

Spain were back to their toothless best against Switzerland, scrapping past them on penalties after missing a host of chances, and coming up against an inspired Yann Sommer.

Italy, on the other hand, were pushed all the way by Belgium but still looked a fearsome threat.

There’s only one winner in my eyes and the Azzurri should wrap it up in normal time, 3-1.
