Italy is set to end all of its local Covid restrictions in time for May half term, including its rules on face masks and vaccine passes.
Under the current restrictions, face masks are still mandatory at all indoor venues. Meanwhile, people also need to have a Green Pass which shows proof of Covid vaccination or recovery, in order to access venues such as bars, restaurants, hotels and more.
However, from May 1 these rules are due to be lifted completely, meaning you'll no longer need a face mask or vaccine pass for these popular venues.
Rules are due to be phased out over the coming weeks, with the aim to have all restrictions ended by May 1 - just in time for Brits' half term holidays and of course, the summer months.

Italy already relaxed some of its travel rules earlier this month. Previously, only fully vaccinated travellers could visit without needing to self-isolate on arrival, as well as arrivals with proof of Covid recovery within six months before travel.
However, the country eased its restrictions to allow for unvaccinated travellers to arrive quarantine-free, provided they can show proof of a negative Covid test. This can be either a PCR taken within 72 hours before entering Italy, or a rapid lateral flow taken within 48 hours.
Unvaccinated arrivals who don't have proof of a test will be subject to five-day isolation.

Of course spring and summer can bring some of the best temperatures and sunny weather for visiting Italy, whether you're hoping to explore the likes of Lake Como, go on a road trip along the Amalfi Coast, or book in a city break to iconic spots such as Rome, Florence or Venice.
Italy isn't the only destination on the cards for UK holidaymakers looking to book a well-deserved getaway.
In recent weeks, Brits' options for holidays have continued to increase as countries ease their travel rules for both vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers.
There are a host of destinations scrapping Covid test rules for double jabbed Brits including Greece, Portugal, France and Canada. In fact, some holiday hotspots don't even any entry rules at all.
Meanwhile destinations like Australia and New Zealand which have operated some of the strictest border closures are also reopening to holidaymakers.
Australia is dropping pre-travel Covid tests next month for vaccinated arrivals, while New Zealand his set to welcome back vaccinated UK travellers from 11.59pm on May 1 with no quarantine, although you will need to self-test on arrival.
