Sloane's may be the name for sausage, meat and pies in Bangkok, but now it also represents pasta and pizzas.
Sloane's have teamed up with neighbourhood favourite Peppina and created Peppina Gelo, a range of frozen pizzas following the strict standards of Peppina's Neapolitan pizzas. The pizzas are made the same way as Peppina restaurants using their specialist pizza ovens, then blast frozen and packaged ready for cooking at home. A pizzeria in you kitchen in just five minutes!
Peppina adheres to the rules of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, an association created to promote and protect the rich heritage of pizza worldwide. The secret to the dough is understanding the simple ingredients of water, sea salt, flour and yeast. The dough is pillowy soft and slightly elastic, with a crispness at the edges of a blistered crust.
Available for delivery through Sloane's and Passion Delivery. The pizzas can also be bought at Gourmet Market and will be soon coming to other supermarkets nationwide.
What goes best with pizza -- pasta. If you aren't the type to spend hours in the kitchen making pasta (no judgement here), Sloane's is also making and selling specialist pasta, Scarletta.
More than just a range of supermarket pasta, the Scarletta range is a higher quality of fresh pasta for the home cook. With more than 25 pasta shapes, including the rarely-seen in Thailand, Gigli and Mafalde, there are also shapes we recognise like the tortellini and ravioli. All pastas made using good quality flour and local organic eggs.
The Scarletta range also includes sauces, which are handmade, using Roma tomatoes grown especially for the brand in Chiang Mai. These tomatoes are left on the vine until extra ripe to give them that additional natural sweetness for a richer sauce. Other ready to eat dishes like lasagna, are also available.
