Marino Braccu, general manager and sommelier of three-Michelin-starred 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana in Hong Kong will host an Italian wine dinner and masterclass at Uno Mas, Centara Grand, CentralWorld on May 2-3.
Braccu, a Sardinian native, has helped more than 400 Italian wine labels break into the Asian market.
As sommelier and general manager of Otto e Mezzo Bombana, Braccu was named Hong Kong's best sommelier, with his wine list winning numerous awards and was recently awarded the Art of Hospitality Award at Asia's 50 Best Restaurants Awards, held in March in Macau.
Otto e Mezzo Bombana Hong Kong also ranks No.12 on Asia's 50 Best 2019 list and remains the only three-Michelin-starred Italian restaurant outside of Italy.
On May 2, experience Braccu's expertise in Italian wine as he teams up with Uno Mas executive chef Sandro Aguilera for a special Mediterranean fine-dining journey. Priced at 3,990 baht per person, the menu consists of a six-course Mediterranean tour, each dish paired with an Italian wine to complement the flavours.
Kick off with oyster (with dried octopus and potato foam), followed by squid (palamós squid with cauliflower and artichoke), bonito belly (native black garlic with Mediterranean herbs and concentrate juice); tradition ocean and land (Iberico presa pork, Denia red prawn and consommé-infused ham); and beef (120 hours-roasted wagyu, endive and crispy pulled beef).
Seating is limited to 30, with each course and wine pairing served at the alfresco dining deck on the 54th floor of Centara Grand.
On Friday, Braccu will host an exclusive wine talk and masterclass through the major appellation of Italian wines. Priced at 1,990 baht per person, the journey is comprised of a 16-Italian-fine-wines journey across the major appellation and wine districts in Italy.
