An Italian tennis official has been suspended for 5½ years due to multiple corruption breaches, as announced by the sport's integrity agency. Manuel Guion, a national-level official and ATP challenger line judge, confessed to five violations of the tennis anti-corruption program. The breaches encompassed activities such as conspiring to commit a corruption offense, soliciting a player to engage in corruption, promoting tennis betting, and placing bets on events while officiating at them, according to a statement from the International Tennis Integrity Agency.

The ITIA noted that Guion fully cooperated with the investigation and was also fined $6,000. As part of his suspension, he is barred from officiating at or attending any tennis event sanctioned by all ITIA members.
