The Italian government is offering scholarships for the academic year 2019/2020 to Thai candidates wishing to attend postgraduate and single courses, as well as conduct research activities, at any legally recognised university and higher-education institution in Italy.
The scholarships cover many different fields including aerospace, agriculture and food industry, arts, civil and electronic engineering, conservation and technology of restoration, energy, environment, information technology, language and literature, micro and nano technology, music, physics, sciences and telecommunication.
Eligible candidates must have good knowledge of the Italian language and possess the title of study as required by the selected university or institution.
Their legal age should not be over 28 years (by May 30, 2019), except lecturers effectively working exclusively in teaching of the Italian language or except otherwise required by selected institution.
The duration of the scholarships, which will be granted from Jan 1 to Oct 31, 2020, may vary according to the calendar of the courses, usually up to nine months of attendance at the selected institutions.
Applications for the scholarship renewal are possible in case of completion of long-term courses. The scholarship for the renewal will be granted from Nov 1, 2019, to Oct 31, 2020.
Beneficiaries will get a monthly allowance of €900 (31,800 baht), but have to make their own travel and lodging arrangements. They will be covered by health insurance at the charge of Italian authorities. An officially appointed Italian-Thai committee shall be established to evaluate the applications and make a selection of the beneficiaries. The application deadline is May 30.
