An Italian restaurant in Bristol has closed temporarily after a member of its staff tested positive for coronavirus.
Bomboloni on Gloucester Road will be closed for two weeks while all other employees are tested for the virus.
The family-run restaurant is the third hospitality business in Bristol to close this week due to a Covid-19 case among staff, after The Bristol Loaf in Bedminster and Bar 44 in Clifton were both forced to shut.
Bomboloni revealed the news in a statement shared on its Facebook page yesterday (October 22).
The statement reads: "Unfortunately one of our team has just been tested positive for Covid.
"Therefore, under the circumstances we need to protect both staff and customers and follow government guideline and close for the next two weeks, or until further notice.
"We thank you all for your support and understanding. Team Bomboloni."
Restaurant owner Sara Griffin told Bristol Live the infected member of staff has not been inside the restaurant or come into contact with any of their colleagues since last Thursday (October 15).
She said the safety of staff and customers is "our priority".
"We know that we have been very strict on our Covid measures within the restaurant, but we cannot manage the social lives of our staff," she said.
"We just ask them to be very careful about following guidelines. The staff member infected has not been in the restaurant or been in contact with any member of the team since last Thursday.
"We are just taking precautionary measures to ensure safety of our staff and customers as this is our priority."
